Join the Emerging Leaders and have a positive impact in our community by volunteering at the Saturday morning breakfast at Burke United Christian Ministries to serve those who are food insecure. The volunteer shift goes from 8:30am-11:30am on Saturday, July 11. Burke United Christian Ministries is at 576 E Fleming Dr Morganton, NC 28655 which is right near the Food Lion on US 70 headed toward Drexel.

In order to volunteer, you will need to sign BUCM's confidentiality and media consent form that morning, so please review these (below) ahead of time. These are to protect the vulnerable status of some of the people served!

Confidentiality Agreement
The Mission of Burke United Christian Ministries is restore resilience in people living in poverty and experiencing homelessness, ensuring their essential needs are met. In meeting this mission, the Board of Directors, volunteers and employees may learn information about the people we serve which should be kept confidential either by law or out of respect for the individual. This agreement is an attempt to inform and document a promise that sensitive information will be kept confidential by the Board of Directors, volunteers and employees.
Burke United Christian Ministries has the responsibility for information that, by law, regulation, policy or basic respect for the individual, must be kept in strict confidence and used only in the capacity of specified responsibilities. The Ministry acknowledge the Board of Directors, volunteers and employees may need access to confidential information.
Board members, volunteers and employees agree to:

• Keep all client's information in strict confidence and to use this information only in performance of his/her duties and not release this information to any person not authorized to receive it.

• Protect and not share computer access codes assigned to a person and not to place these codes in written form in any place accessible to the public and/or other staff or volunteers.

• Not copy any software owned by the ministry for any purpose other than making an authorized back- up copy, and to protect all computer equipment assigned to his/her use, and treat these assets with

• appropriate care.

Board members, volunteers and employees understand and acknowledge that violations of these agreements may lead to the immediate dismissal and or other disciplinary measures. 

MEDIA CONSENT FORM
I hereby grant permission to be photographed, interviewed,
videotaped, or filmed. I understand my visual image or quotations may be reprinted or broadcast in the media for public dissemination. I release and relieve Burke United Christian Ministries from any responsibility or liability for any claims arising from the broadcast. publication or reproduction of any such photographs, interviews, videotape, or films.
I also understand that the photography, interview, videotaping, or filming is being done with the knowledge and approval by Burke United Christian Ministries.
